Vestige

Vestige installation is comprised by a series of small sculptures, made with white clay and porcelain, and placed over a soil of earth. The pieces simultaneously resemble amulets, human figures, fragments or reminiscences for some archaic time. This series is accompanied by photographs that point out her reflections on society and time. The relentless creation of the material object on human culture that resonates in our individual and collective memory. Vestige could evoke an archaeological site or the display of some findings in an anthropological museum. In their simplicity, the pieces are somehow archaic, with a porosity that immediately suggest erosion and the time past. // Ernesto Menendez Conde
